#3, camera kings... really? The only way you'd get it for $1295 is if you gave them a kidney as well. Or some meth. It's another brooklyn rip-off joint... do your homework.
#4 my guess is that you have been burn too many times at that location. I on the other hand have never bought from there but I'm glad to take you advise and avoid the place like the plague then.
Cheers and thanks for looking out for us poor bastards
If I'm a Canon guy, I'd get the 7D (or the T1i) over the 5D Mark II and save $1000 for a nice lens. I probably get flamed for this, again... But I think full frame is highly overrated.
Most people worry too much about noise and technical image quality which doesn't really mean much in real-life shots. It probably help you to capture a 'record' shot using ISO 6400 and above, but it won't be a stunning shot. Looking at images that wins various competitions, it will likely be capture w/ lower ISO between 100 and 400. Rare to see high ISO images produce stunning capture on any camera.
For mere mortals like me, the equipment doesn't mean as much as composition, techniques and creativity applied to create an image.
#7, you are right about 100-400 being stunning. However, with the 5D2, ISO 3200 is equivalent to my old 800. That means, I can easily produce a "stunning," using your word, picture at 1600...
I recently shot an entire wedding without having to reach for the flash. Natural light just beats flashes. I'm sure the 7D might come close. However, if you shoot low light much, 5D2 still beats 7D. #6, you have my support. Don't give in now. It's an awesome camera! After 367 days, I'm still amazed at what it can do.
That said, I would not mind having a 7D as a backup any day! It's a lovely camera, at this price especially.
Like #3 puts it, beware of extremely low prices. Those places usually call back to try to sell you $5 accessories for $50, then make it sound like a great deal when they offer to give them to you for $40. When you tell them you don't need the accessories, they say the body is out of stock. Or they flat out charge you a $100 "handling" or "processing fee."
Yes, of course the 5D will have less noise at higher ISO, and all the reviews will show that. But do you think if say, 2 photographers one got the 5Dmk2 and another a 7D shoot at the same wedding, there will be such big difference in the result pics? I actually don't know the answer, but I'm thinking the results are probably going to be pretty close.
I'm also thinking of switching over to Canon and while I can afford the 5Dmk2, I think the $1000 or so difference is better spend on a good lens. I'm not ready to give into the belief that full framer is always better just yet.
Not a bad price *IF* it has the USA warranty.

No thanks, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II will be the first camera I get as soon as I make enough to be in this cam price range.
