Agree with #1. Seller will clean up T3i and make room for T4i. This is just 1st wave of price reduction. To me the T4i improve more on video than on photo.. With new STM motor majorly focus on video- you have 2 more lens to consider it. However I still doubt it can shoot video better than camcorder ? Very disappointed- even Canon improved the light sensitivity on T4i- they did nor counter back the Nikon's MP count. The make Nikon entry level D3200 have more MP count than Flagship of EOS rebel line T4i. Sure picture quality is always 1st priority but higher MP count is also a nice feature to have... Finall HDR feature is added to compete with Nikon...(But i guess photoshop or 3rd party should work well better) Amazon currently sell T4i for $949(with 18-55mm is II lens). For about $350 difference now. Is that really worthy ? I personally doubt it...
Ghost Rider, I'm not sure but it's not all about the MP anymore and has not been. People take pictures with more MP still get the same crappy pictures with some of the cameras. I'm not a camera expert but I've owned a 4MP one and an 8MP. The picture I think really depends on how well the person knows their camera. I'm still learning how to use my 10+ year old 4MP camera.
#6 fully agree with you- the key to the successful photos is the person behind the camera not really the camera itself. .As I mentioned - the picture quality is always the 1st priority and MP count is a nice additional. With high MP count you might have more option to crop the photo and make it a better one. And if Canon try to compete with Nikon,They have to beat Nikon in picture quality and also spec. Nikon D3200 simply raise the standard for entry level DSLR. And the MP count debate has begin since 6MP ( canon 300) vs 8mp ( canon 350) era. But manufacture keep raise MP count to keep competitive edge isn't it ? That means there is still some demand no matter from user or marketing people. But I am not sure if you ever notice: As the technology keep improving- the picture quality improved over the old camera. You can get a current camera( same brand similar model) with same ISO (try higher like 400 800 or 1600) you will see better picture/lower noise on the new camera. They did improve the sensitivity of the inside sensor. Sure you 4MP camera ( like my Sony 3.2MP camera) still works but may have more restrictions. Just my personal thought...
T4i got announced today, price gonna come down on these.
Yes, but this IS already down.
Still a great deal... Sold out though.

I will wait for the price drop. Not in the market for one but if it was around $400 I might jump in for one.
