Warranty is likely 90 days (as with other Canon refurbished items). Without tax, I would probably get it but with tax, the price is too close to a new one.
Thanks #3. Simulated purchase netted $22 in sales tax. Standard retail (g, Walmart, Amazon) is $500, so I'd still consider it a deal (plus free shipping). I think if it were $300 total I'd jump on it. But given the age of EOS I wonder if they are starting to liquidate?
The reviews for this XS Rebel are equivalent to or better than the reviews of it's current replacement on the market, the T1i. Of course, the T1i has full 1080p video recording capabilities with an HDMI out, but if video on your DSLR isn't important, this XS model is a phenomenal starter kit. At this price it's unbeatable with the 90 day warranty. Used on Ebay, this kit sells for $300+. The T1i kit is $799. Is the HD video option worth $450? I doubt it.
