I never had a DSLR, glad prices are going down, but this particular one does not have the video recording so will have to pass.

I have had this camera since March, it has served me well. The price drops are most likely due to Canon's T1i which is replacing the older cameras.

I would consider it if it wasnt a refurb. This model is starting to get pretty old as far as new models coming out. I would pay this much for a xsi refurb though.

I like this one. Mine brand new came with the 18mm-55mm IS lens $476 shipped last year. Best entry dSLR IMHO. A little small but I feel very comfortable in my hands. Just right.

Never film using any dSLR anyway, because I use a camcorder instead.

At this price, it's not quite a deal for a non-IS refurbished.

This is a decent entry-level camera from Canon. If your willing to spring a few more hundred bucks, I would go with the T1i

Isn't it technically the lens that matter and not so much the body? I see people with entry level body but with $1500 and they take amazing shots.

#2 adding a movie mode to a dslr is not a simple task. Expect an higher price to do so.

I for some reason believe if you want a movie mode think you should not get a dslr.

This is a bit heavy, but pretty nice. As #3 said, the T1i is out!

I looked at the XS when I purchased my 40D. In retrospect, I wish I had spent the extra money on optics. I would put $$ into the lenses first and get a cheaper body.

good deal for a refurbished item. I wonder what the warranty period is and what refurbished means. Return to the store due to a defect or malfunction during lab test and has to be sold as a refurbished. Sometimes, you can luck out and the camera can be actually new with a simple scratch.

      Any one has experience this?
