I'm tempted, my old DSLR needs replaced and I'm not ready to drop another grand on another. This looks to be a great replacement as its way more advanced than my old one. and a good price point that will leave some money left over for add-ons.

This is a good deal if you don't have to pay sales tax for California residents. Otherwise, amazon.com has it for $449 (no tax and free shipping).

The XS has the latest DIGIC III processor, though not the 14 bit output in the XSi, and this results in a very good but not stellar picture.

Depending on the price, the XS might be the best absolute camera bargain I've ever seen in years. For me it was $199 cheaper than the XSi when I got it. Yet, you're a semi-pro or can afford it, get the Canon XSi for the extra $150-200.

That was from a review someone posted on newegg. See my XSi is a much better camera and for about the same price or not much more if you include all the extras I put with it.
