Can anyone tell me the difference between the XSi and XS, the only thing I did notice was Megapixels, anything else?

Go with the XSi. the XS is a stripped version of it and meant to sell to people who dont know baconnaise. the XSi won some very high marks while the XS did not.

XS doesn't have a spot meter.

XS is not sold body-only. (Unless you find a dealer who will split the package for you)

#2, the XSi is a CMOS sensor. The XS is not. Huge, huge difference in top, usable ISO sensitivity! And that's just one.

#4 hit it on the money. The XS is for people who might not want to buy a Canon because the XSi costs $100-150 more or so. The XS really shouldn't exist in my view.

#6 all Canon cameras are CMOS. They haven't made CCD camera in years.

#7, wow, you're right. Man, I botched that one. Even the XT/XTi have CMOS sensors. Thanx for correcting my ignorance. I was totally unaware that Canon moved away from CCD several products back.

Guess I was used to assuming things based on Nikons. Although it seems the new D90 is CMOS, which seems to be their first under $1K.
