pretty standard pricing. msft live deal kills this one.
honestly, what does this excel in over the XTi?
this should have it all
http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/canon_eos_xsi_vs_xti_vs_40D.html
#2, many things over the Xti. 12mp, more fps, larger display, supposedly better image quality, lighter body, live lcd if thats your thing, spot metering...
does this have HD video? what model does?
SO!!!
I have the XSi in my cart at Amazon, now $568 w/ free shipping. File this under BFD.
I think the only one with HD video recording is the 50D from Canon. Either that or the newer one from Nikon. I don't remember which one.
does such a high MP just make for more noise?
#6 you mean this?
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Rebel-Camera-Body/dp/B0012Y88QQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227642102&sr=8-2
cause if so then you dont have a lens.... to get the same thing as Dell has you would need this...
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Camera-18-55mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B0012YA85A/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227642102&sr=8-1
and that one (with lens) is $639..
But #2 is right that Amazon has it cheaper.. Dell charges tax for me in MI and it came to $643.47. Its still cheaper for me to go with Amazon
I have the xti and like it, I can only imagine how nice this is.
it's nice, i have XT and XSi and the xsi does seem more solid in the hand. to be honest, i don't notice much of a change in pictures but i haven't tried it in a controlled environment. the best feature of XSi is the LCD size, "sensor cleaning" (not really confident that that works), mega pixels, and spot metering. if you're looking for entry level dslr, xsi is a good choice. xt and xti have a cheaper feel. but i like the xt controls better than the xsi. screen is too big to have buttons on the left so you have to use a lot of the right thumb.
Steve's Digicams takes a close look at the Canon EOS Rebel XSi.

The Nikon D90 is rated higher. But it is also newer and more expensive.
#11: I would have liked it if the XSi had buttons on the left of the LCD like the XT has. Also, I think the XSi screen is the same resolution as the XT's, just physically bigger.
The XS is worth considering too - $460 for the kit at Amazon.
XS with 1 kit lens is $529 at Dell.
Here it is in silver for $600 free ship at Zip Zoom. If you can live with the color it may save on sales tax for some.

EBAY is alot cheaper with Live.com Cashback!!
#5: The D90 from Nikon does HD video (720p, I think), as does the Canon 5DmkII (1080p, a significantly more expensive camera, just released). I've got the Rebel XT and like it, but think it's time to consider upgrading to a 40D/50D/5DmkII.
Who would buy something this expensive - fragile (flobw) on ebay?
Bought this for the wife for xmas last time this was offered-she's already opened it ans is using it every day. She tried the D90 and the XSi and chose the Canon, both are great cameras.
