      I'd skip this. The picture quality is just ok. I got me a powershot s5 instead and it's way more useful.

      Get a MiniDV camcorder. I saw a samsung for $150. I have read that the quality is still far superior with MiniDV on the low-end consumer non-HD cams.

      Personally, I use a Canon S3IS for most video with an old Sony 8MM digital for stuff where I really care about quality. The Canon video quality is still not on par with an old Sony and doesn't have "night vision" but it's way more convenient. Of course, the Canon is a much better still camera since that's what it is meant to be.
