I can't speak for the vendor but this camcorder just took a handful of first places from camcorderinfo's annual awards.

I'm willing to hold off on HD Camcorders for a few years. They aren't going to go anymore high-def than 1080p, so price will only go down, and quality up over the next year or so. But (if true), this seems like a really good deal.
Great deal on a well reviewed Camcorder. It seems HV20's price is dropping fast compared to other HiDef models. Is it because it records to MiniDV tape?
this has been a great camera for the month i've had it so far.
the picture quality is clear. the still images are good enough.
the tape motor noise is loud, but with this price drop you can afford to buy an external mic attachment.
you can also shoot in 24p mode for a "cinematic" effect. It puts a nice indie touch on home movies.
computer editors beware: not many programs can edit hdv easily. be ready to drop a hefty some for good editing software.
Because people pay for software...
This is the camera I want, but now the price just needs to come down another $250, I say another 6 months.
