Canon is a carrot when it comes to supporting their products.
I have a pretty recent ImageCLASS that does not work ANY 64-bit operating systems, nor does it work with any Linux OS.
Too bad, cuz they make the HP printer engines that can turn out good copies.
Canon lists that it IS compatible w/ 7/x64 and XP/x64 on their driver list.
I'm sure this one supports all current operating systems, but I don't trust that they will take the effort to make it forward-compatible if and when there are different OS coming out.
