Hmmmm. Seems to take the Canon X25 cartridge, selling for $30 to $70, and having a 2500 page capacity at 5% coverage.
Cheaper because there's no document feeder, perhaps. Has Vista x64 driver support. Get firmware update from Canon USA website.
Mac is not compatiable
#3 is correct. I did lots of searches and could not find any driver for Mac. There is not even a third party solution that allow you to connect a Mac to this printer. That being said, this is a great all-in-one solution for a PC. It is one of the few on the market that comes with a full cartridge. In addition, there are refill solutions out there and should allow you to refill this for at least three times.
Drat! You're right, the Canon web site actually states that the MFC3240 is one of the models which is not supported by any version of OS X. Oh, well.
