Generic, non-OEM batteries will burn your house down.
Or at least have significantly lower battery life faster than the OEM battery would after 3 months.
May not be up to oem standards but is well worth the $4 to have a spare. Works Great in my SD1000

bought one of these about a year ago, cant remember if it was from eforcity or not, but in any case it is probably the same cheap-o Chinese battery. Anywho, Ive used it casually in my sd1000 and it seems to work pretty well. Cant comment on its life relative to the official Cannon battery, but as someone else said, well worth 4 bux to have a backup spare (great as a gift!), infact buy a couple since you cant just go out and buy batteries if yours die like you can with cameras that take AA batteries or the like. Just my 2 Cents.
Is this 4GB or 8GB?
I bought 2 of these from a similar retailer. Both worked initially until the battery ran out but neither would charge... EVER. I asked for an RMA, sent both back, and never saw them or my money again. I've followed up via email several times but the manufacturer's phone number is literally in China and it would cost me as much as the batteries just to make a harassing phone call.
