Paid $10 more for this at Best Buy just after BF, and I think it's a really great printer and scanner, unlike the Lexmark and HPs I'd been looking at.

Great price on a great printer. Ink is a bit pricey but overall quality is top notch for the price point.

This basically just adds a wireless interface and LCD screen to the $50 MX300, and neither feature is particularly useful to most people.

Not to mention that it lacks a fax feature, so it's not really "all-in-one" like the MX300.

Wireless not useful? Everyone is wireless with laptops. Now you can print from your couch and not have to get up and plug-in in your office.

This complete printer is almost the same price as a wireless print server. Sold.

#3, that's not true. The MX300 uses the Canon 40/41 ink cartridges. This printer uses the 220 series cartridges (5 of them).

The 5 cartridges, while they sound expensive, hold 9ml of ink each (18 ml on the pigmented black tank, used for printing text) and last a long time, and the separated colors are great for photo printing and not having to replace an entire cartridge when one color goes out.

Not to mention the resolution of the 620 is double that of the mx300 on printing, and 4x higher on scanning. And the wireless really is a nice feature to have.

I have one of these, and have owned several other canon printers (IP4300, MP530, etc) and this one is really a good printer at a great price! The quality is great! Canon is the best in the inkjet home printer business at the moment.

And what's the cost of teh cartridges? I used to have several inkjet printers lying around because it was always cheaper to just buy a new printer than buy the replacement cartridges. They keep drying up so it's not as if you can save by not using them either.

I changed to lasers a couple of years back and have been happy ever since

Canon 40/41 multipack for the MX300 costs about $45.

Canon 220 multipack for the MP620 is about $48 for the color, then $15 for the black, but you get about 3x the ink on the canon for not even double the price.

I bought one at bestbuy for $50 with free "album kit". Cool printer. Front door opens like magic when you print. Hours of fun.

#5, I can already print from my couch with the MX300. It's shared on a PC that's running most of the day. I rest my case that this is worth nowhere near twice the cost of the MX300.

#12: While I have a spare laptop I could run all day long so that I can have print functionality, I'd rather have a print server or wireless enabled printer. This solution amounts to a cost savings of almost $100/yr on your electric bill.
