Back in stock - won't last long! Amazon has the Canon PIXMA MX892 All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer/Copier/Scanner for $60 with free shipping. Features 9600x2400 color prints, Wireless N, 12.5PPM and 600dpi scanning.
+1 satnav4 ... It amazes me that at a bargain website like this one all the naysayers don't have a clue on how to save money on ink cartridges. All printers are sold at discount with the intent to make up for the loss on ink cartridge replacements. Its called a " Loss Lead " point of sale. Find a reputable non-oem ink cartridge supplier and print on the cheap. My company uses getsmartcartridges.com with no issues and they even give you credit for the cartridges you return with free shipping.
Everybody's worried about the price of ink when your government sends billions to Israel, Pakistan and other middle Eastern countries, where were these countries when hurricane Sandy hit? I think we have BIGGER FISH TO FRY!!!! Your Tax Dollars at work for what?
Generic ink works well if you don't care about photo quality or fading. Otherwise, the oem ink is much better. I've compared several generics side by side with oem, and there is a big difference. There is a reason why the ink is so cheap. If those reasons are unimportant to you, then purchase it. If quality is important to you, then purchase the oem ink.
boxingfan is correct, don't use the generic ink if you intend on quality prints. It does help if you set your printer to it's highest print quality setting. You also have a greater chance (happened twice on Canon's) on frying the print head.
I have used G&G generic ink (and others) for years without "frying a printhead". I can't imagine how generic ink could even fry a printhead. You guys don't work for Canon's ink department, do you?
Canon printers drink ink. Beware you will end up paying more for refills. Canon printers also do not like generic ink. The ink light always stays on and gives you warnings.
The cost fo the ink outweighs the price of the printer!
Uhhh that's how they all are.
Yeah, ain't it wonderful how it's cheaper to throw a nice printer in the landfill and by a new one than to replace the ink cartridges.
Just missed it....OOS at Amazon price.
Buying a one time 4 pack refill sets you back approx. $45 and the printer s $60.. I think I will save my bucks
I see a 20-pack of ink for $29.99 on the same page as this printer.
life-time supply for most people
Sorry you missed it. This printer uses cheap, 3rd party chipped cartridges. You don't have to buy the expensive OEM ones. Under $5 for a whole set of cartridges: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PGI-225-CLI-226-Compatible-Cartridges/dp/B006OGBTWM/ref=finder_infs10_tit?pf_rd_p=1264010802&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=672508011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0W1NS19M1J6RG14KWJ3S
Also, G&G makes some very good replacement cartridges for a little more: http://www.meritline.com/canon-pgi-225-plus-cli-226-ink-compatible-with-new-chip-combo-5-bacon---p-75805.aspx
Please research before you complain.

Fried the printhead on my Canon MX860. Happened after I started using generic carts. Hmmmm.
