Wow..seems like a great price for a 8mp canon camera. Anyone have any opinions about this camera?

Largish, plastic, LCD could be larger. On the other hand, batteries are cheap (AA NiMH costs heck of a lot less than LiIon) and the Powershot series has been mostly decent cameras. Don't have this one, but have a few other powershots. At this price, with IS, SDHC support, even I'm tempted and I don't need it.

I even think CHDK works on this..

I have this camera. I tried to get the A720IS after reviewing ratings by Consumer Reports, but had to settle on this (shortly after the "best buy" recommendation, the A720IS could not be found (at reasonable prices). This is a fine camera. It does a good job with good image quality for the price. It's not at small as the compacts, but it focuses better and images are more crisp (IMHO).

The only thing I don't like about AA cells is that cams that only take 2xAA cells tend to be slow. Still, that might be a good trade-off for the convenience and cost effectiveness of AA cells.

I ordered this camera from Amazon.com for $5 more ($109.98 free shipping). Newegg.com allows no refund and only 30-day replacement on cameras. Amazon.com allows full refund till January 31. Also, if the price were to drop further, Amazon has the price adjustment policy for 30-days. $5 might be worth the extra insurance for the return and price adjustment.

Great pictures (typical for Canons). But the camera is slow when trying to take multiple pictures back to back.

I bought this from Amazon last week based on all of the great reviews (consumer search, steve's digicams, etc.). It is $113 now, still a great price.

Reviews are great for this camera, and the price isn't bad. The main drawbacks seem to be the long flash-recycle time and a movie mode with a slower frame-per-second rate than was available on previous versions.

I'll pick one of these up after the holidays since I already have a wide angle lens for it. $100 is two tanks of gas.

This camara is good for general usage, but not as compact as many other nice models out there. Good thing is that it takes SDHC.
