i don't care what people say..besides the 'bulkyness' of this sucker it's the best of its kind in the market.

takes awesome stills...which comes with the canon quality. the movie isn't too bad but you can't have everything.

the only thing i would suggest is that to put a screen protector for the lcd screen for some reason that thing is too easy to scratch. the protector might come off after few dives but it's good to protect it. otherwise a great price and great camera for portable water photography.

This is one of the best of the new waterproof cameras, but it's a bit expensive.

They have been out of stock for a while now. I was wanting to get this for an upcoming trip, but ended up going with the cheaper, lower quality Olympus 1050 for $150. If you want some serious waterproofing, you can get one of the Canon SD cameras and a waterproof case to fit it. They are good for 130 feet. And if you wait for the right deals, you can probably get both for around $320. Of course, that setup wouldn't be as convenient as this D10.

I did the Powershot + Waterproof case setup on a 3-week trip. Never again.

First, the whole point of a point-and-shoot camera is to make it easy to carry around and use. The $200 enclosure (that ONLY works on THAT specific model) turns it into a bulky, hard-to-view mess. And, Canon's enclosure quality leaves a lot to be desired, part of the latch busted without a compelling bang. The final blow was nearly having it stolen because I was carrying it around in a damp area. I figured for the price, I'll never buy the enclosure again, will put the money toward a small camera that's already waterproof.

Great to see Canon's getting into this waterproof/freezeproof game. Olympus seemed to be the only consumer model, required proprietary xD and it had miserable quality compared to Canon's.

My boyfriend got this for our trip in Hawaii recently and I seriously think it was an awesome buy. I think he got it on Costco.com but I don't remember how much it cost him. The images came out really well, and we were able to take a lot of great underwater shots (even of sharks that were moving around quite a bit). The videos were alright.. I guess your typical point and shoot digital camera quality. Even though kind of inconvenient, I liked the bulkiness of the camera because it felt like the camera's very durable.

The only thing I didn't like about it was that you have to take time to program it to the underwater function. That was annoying because sometimes it's all crazy in the ocean, and it's hard to program it if you're not familiar with the buttons.

bought this for my sister and it works great. Only used it in the pool, not the ocean yet. Just be sure to soak it in fresh water afterwards to clean it up, else the screws might rust and finish look funny.

    I paid $299 in June.
