#3 - The more MP's you cram on a sensor, the more noise you're going to get (especially at high ISO's). Just because a camera has more MP's doesn't mean it'll produce better images.
Plus the S95 does HD video and full manual control.
The S95 is one of Canon's high-end cameras. It has a bigger image sensor and wider aperture than most (if not all) other pocketable cameras. Why would you want more than 10MP? Are you going to print billboards?
Basically, low-light performance is typically the realm of DSLR cameras. While DSLR performance can theoretically never be matched by pocket cameras, the S95 is one of a very few that comes closest.
More impressively-spec'ed handhelds from Panasonic and Samsung feel a bit bigger than I care for, but also definitely worth a look.
I don't have an urgent need to buy, but if a good deal, better than this one and not sold from a New Jersey retailer comes along, i'll more than likely buy one.
There apparently has been a huge spat of shady retailers out of New Jersey, employing various levels of bait and switch tactics and flat out fraud. This guy documents a bunch of them: http://thoughts-of-dave.bacon.com/ and his blog comes-up whenever you Google for "store name scam".
As Norkusa points out, always pay very very close attention to who actually fulfills your order, read any negative ratings, take the positive ratings with a fat grain of salt, and Google the living crap out of the store's name and url to find more dirt on them. Do all that before even thinking of adding an item to your cart.
YES! Purchased. I've been waiting for a deal on the S95 since it came out.
EDIT: Sold by "Click Go And Buy"? From the user reviews it sounds like a typical NY gray market camera retailer. No sale.
Yeah, that sounds a little risky for a big-ticket item. Newegg had the S95 for $362 a week ago so it will show up again at that price (or less).
$364 for a 10MP camera and 3x zoom?
SD940 is $169 at Costco for 12MP and 4x.

To me a very important feature of most any camera, and one that is most especially rare in pocket cameras is indeed "low-light performance".

The Canon S95 is one of very few pocket cameras with a "fast" f2 lens, and a large sensor plate 1/1.7-inch CCD.
