I've been researching this for awhile (this morning). The 770IS for $160 on Amazon seems like a better way to go.

I have the SD770IS and it's pretty similar to the SD1100IS except the SD770IS is 10MP and a tiny bit larger.

well, i have never seen anything on tigerdirect with $2 shipping. i feel like that company is the last in the industry to not offer free shipping on any items. that's one of the major reasons i don't buy from them... i don't like playing the guessing game with how much it will cost to ship to me.

i would go with amazon or dell with coupons to get a better deal on a better canon powershot.

How about I sweeten the deal with 15% MS Live Search Cashback?

Go to search.live.com and search "digitalcameras" (no spaces).
Click on the Tiger direct for 15% cashback link. Sorry if this info gets baconed...

Of course you have to join and adhere to the rules. Up to 60 days to get your cashback through your Paypal account. I think you must also purchase using Paypal.

Not bad. I paid almost twice ($290) for my 870 last September. The only advantage I know that my camera has is Wide Angles (which indeed is a HUGE deal for me since I take a lot of indoor shots). Nevertheless, if you guys don't take too many indoor or panoramic shots - this is a fine camera. I regret paying relatively so much for my 870 because at the end of the day, a small lense is a small lense. It bottlenecks the sharpness of photos no matter how fancy the camera.

This is a great and popular model. Newegg has been offering it for about the same price for some time now.
