Of course, I bought it from NewEgg last week for $150, before it went on sale...anyway, this is a pocket-size, mostly-metal-body camera that takes excellent stills and surprisingly good (non-HD) video, too.

Uses a rechargeable battery but generic battery back-ups are cheap. Works pretty much like every other Canon, fairly easy to use.

Make sure and read the FULL manual which is on the CD or online, not just the quickstart manual that comes on paper with the camera. There are a lot of cool settings you will only understand if you read the manual.

Finally, unlike almost any other compact camera, this one comes with an optical viewfinder, so you can leave off the LCD screen and extend your battery life.

How are the pics from this camera? I've read that some images from it aren't that great.. but others say its fine.

Have had mine since May (paid $200 on newegg). I am very happy with the pics that it takes now that I've stopped using AUTO mode for everything; in AUTO I found it often didn't flash indoors when it probably should have. Otherwise, this camera really rocks and is a great bargain at $135 shipped.

I've owned LOTS of Canon compacts, and am a fairly advanced user, and this one acts very strangely on Auto. So strange, in fact that I gave up and returned it.
