      Big fan of the Canon SD Digital Elph series. I've owned an SD200, SD430, and now SD1000. Always paid about $200 for them. Great capability in a small package! Hard to find 3x optical in this size, plus they're otherwise very fully featured.

      I do suggest buying an extra Canon brand battery. They drain fast, especially in video mode, and I've had bad luck with the Dolica batteries.
