Not a great deal.
wanted to buy this camera but #1 says that its not a good deal, what would be a good deal and where can I find it? THis camera is supposed to have good ratings is the price no good?
hah, this is an awesome deal. if I had the cash and didn't get an SD1000 on black friday, I'd get this for $258!
For reference, B&H's current price is $265+shipping, so this is a pretty decent deal in comparison.
Yeah, not sure where bigbadjay shops, but I can't recall the 870IS being priced this low, even during the holidays. This camera was, at its cheapest, around $290 only a month ago.
i rather get the sd850is... it has the optical view finder, pretty much the same features and it's a little cheaper too.
Actually, here's the big rub. The 850 has a 35mm film camera equivalent wide-angle focal length of 35mm -- where the 870 has a 35mm film camera equivalent wide-angle focal length of 28mm.
I think that difference (plus a few other improvements over the 850) would be worth the few dollars more in price.
I own the 850.
I own the 850 as well and even though the view finder is nice to have when your battery starts going, the wide angle of the 870 is far more valuable IMO. I really wish I had the 870 instead.
Wait for the next model. The sd870 is too big and bulky for an Elph. I own the sd800. I actually prefer the sd800 because it's smaller and has viewfinder.
