It hasn't been released for sale yet, so it's only available for pre-order right now.
wide end of zoom (37mm) is not very wide for indoor shots of groups, and the lens is not very fast (f/3.2). Most people would be happier with the ~28mm wide zooms that have the f/2.8 and faster lenses. then again, i usually shoot with an slr so i have higher standards for these compacts...
That's interesting, #2. The ~28mm wide lens of the SD870IS is one of its best features, and I would have expected Canon to put that on this model.
I'm guessing it has something to do with changing the mechanics of the lens so they could reach 5x zoom. and i'm also guessing 5x zoom is a better (as perceived by the general public) selling point than ~28mm wide lens.
I have the 850is and it blows. The sony cameras are so much better. Totally disappointed in my canon. The quality of the pics and sharpness of the photos compared to the top end sony cameras. There is no comparison. I use the A560 at work, what a POS camera.
#5, top sony cameras blows compared to my nikon D200...so what's your point?
You bought a canon A560, didn't like it...and then went out and bought another canon...and don't like that either, now you like sony...even though you don't have one. What a complete moron you are.
#5
Dude, I've had three sonys and taken about 1 million pics between them and the best of the bunch is worse than the worst pic that my new Canon has taken.
#7,
Why would u take 1 million pics from 3 sucky sony cameras??
#5, maybe, just maybe you just suck at taking pictures.
Try taking pictures with the "auto" setting and don't blindly press the shutter, press it half way until a green box shows around the object you want it to focus on and then press all the way down. Old film cameras used to be able to take pictures at will but many of these auto focus cameras need that 1/3 of a second to compute the focus length. If it's having a tough time focusing, probably due to low light or subject being too far away or too close, then let go and try again.
#8 that is a great question! I wish I had a good answer...
