Is this a good deal or good camera?
good deal, good camera.
Not DSLR ofcourse. 229 at costco but 2GB free + free double waranty. Remember you have to spent time with any new camera.
mostly people write reviews after first clicks saying: "i like it" or "i don't". I have both tz5 and that one. Still not shure what I'll sent to my bro at poland.very similar by quality.
thanks Tima!
Yeah, it's funny how Costco pitches that as a big freebie. I guess most people don't realize you can get a 2 GB card for $5 or less.
Not good deal. Lowest street price on the higher end SX10 IS is 289 with ship, last time I looked (about 4 days ago). Ben is promoting Dell, not searching for best price.
I'm aiming for the SX1 very soon
OK #5, where is the better price?
The flash has to be manually opened. The zoom is fantastic though. I went with the SD880 for ease of use with the flash.
The only downer I've read about this camera is the flash has to open manually. Also there is no HD video mode. The pany TZ5 is a great option that has a build in flash w/ HD, but uses a proprietary battery. This canon uses AA's. Both camera's will deliver excellent picture quality. Just a few bits of info that may sway someone one way or the other.
This is an odd size. It's too large for a pocket. So if you want a long telephoto for your pocket, the Panasonic TZ5 is a better fit. If you don't mind carrying it in a case or purse, then skip this and get something a little larger with better quality like the Canon SX10 or Sony H5. (SLRs are in a different price range, so I won't suggest those here)
Good camera, good deal, and I disagree with #10. This isn't all that much bigger than a standard Canon Powershot. Still fits comfortably in a purse or outside coat pocket. Yeh, not in a shirt pocket but then again, you won't find any that will and still have a 10x zoom.
This is a good deal - it was this price at Circuit City's close out prices - and that was before tax. This is that price delivered. Was going to get camera then if I didn't just buy a Casio a month earlier. Has a nice feel in the hands. LCD is not 3.0 as mention here, its 2.5 I believe. Good Optical zooming.
Good camera:

Actually the LCD is 3".
