The Vixia hv30 is the better Canon HD camcorder.
Cheap High Def camcorders had been around for a while but High Def porn is still hard to come by.
#4, it's a tradeoff - the HV30 has marginally better video quality, and the HDV format is easier to edit that AVCHD, but the HV30 has tape drive motor noise that some find objectionable. The flash-based camera should be silent.
Caveat emptor, claims that this camera supports progressive-mode recording appear to be false.
AVCHD = not now. I'm with you #4.
The vixia hv30 was one of the highest rated hd camcorders from consumer reports. talking to a videographer, he says this is the way to go for home and personal use.
