This is a very good HD camcorder, according to reviews, with excellent video quality. Certainly the best HD camcorder you'll see at this price.

I have the model before this - the HV20. BEST HD cam on the market for the price. This one isn't that great of a price for a refurb but you can't get HDV high-def cams anymore at reasonable prices so I'd say jump on this if you're in the market for one. HDV > AVCHD

This is very tempting, but I want to see what the next gen MiniDV cams will be like. These have been out for a while and I speculate its time for the next gens to debut. But if you are pressed for a MiniDV consumer cam, this is the deal.

I have this model. I don't think this is a good price for refurb. The only 3 problems with me are the (1)non-adjustable viewfinder, (2)maybe a slight tape hum. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have noticed until I read about it. To me it doesn't show up on tape.

      (3) At HD quality there is still some compression, but nothing like the hard drive or SD recorders. For the price however (under $1500), that is acceptable.

Other than that I love this camera. Best of all worlds. Price $500 new from Dell 8 months ago. Tape to me is still king in terms of storage, quality, and portability.
