If you are looking for a medium format scanner, do not buy this. Get an Epson instead, otherwise this is a great scanner.

I recently got a refurb Epson RX595 all-in-one for something like $60 shipped. The scanner in that is not quite as good as the Canon (which I have had for a couple years), but you have to be really looking for differences to see it. Of course, it doesn't have the transparency scanning capabilities of the Canon -- but any digital SLR will blow the Canon away IQ-wise if you want to be digitzing transparencies or negs (I've done head to heads using an Oly E-520)
