Seems to be a good deal? The price of external hard drive is plunging like any other IT products. I remember I bought a 500GB Cavalry at the same price just one year ago. It works good so far.
if you don't have one of these for your personal pc, get one to back things up!
I just got one in the mail today from Buy.com. Bummer that the price has gone up though.. the one I received was only $113.99 shipped (without any stinkin' rebate!)

Hmm.. from the info on the rebate, I may be able to get some $$$ back on this! That's pretty damn sweet!
I wouldn't buy an external drive these days unless it has both a USB and an SATA interface. E-SATA ports are pretty common on new machines and make an external drive much more usable.
#4, these are fine, if you want to just use it for backup. They're plenty fast (I have one) even if they're IDE, but I don't know if they're IDE or SATA... who cares? It's 1TB and it'll last a long time. Works great.
