I got one of these 2 - 3 weeks ago. There are many hurdles to getting working smoothly. So many technologies between building an HTPC, configuring it correctly, pairing the cable card, setting up Media Center, running digital tuner, setting up 360 extender (wired or wireless), installing media center plugins to access your movies and tv shows with the right codecs. Finding the correct remote to purchase that has a one button turn on directly into media center for 360.
I saw a lot of complaints that the card stinks or sucks. It would have been easy to give up and say that but with a little research and effort you can get it working rock solid.

It has been fun and challenging.

Set up is intense.... be ready for it.
Mine has never been quite right. Lots and lots of constant fiddling to watch TV.

Yes #1 it was a major thorn in my @ss as well but it's so sweet now that it's all setup. Hopefully someone will come along and make the process much simpler. I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple TV take over the industry like it has in so many other areas. Too bad Microsoft seems to be dropping the ball once again by not making the PC/live media interface a higher priority. I'm sure there are a lot of hurdles such as cable providers and what not but a company the size of MS should be able to use their size and power to get the job done or get their own media channel. Just my 2 cents

Well I am sorry that you all have had trouble setting this up. I found it fairly easy although my cable guy didn't like it one bit. Mine has been running smooth for about two weeks now. Don't be scared of this card if you are pretty techy with a computer. The directions are written well and software does wonders! Good luck all!!!

The only trouble I had was to start Win 7's Digital Cable Advisor. There are instructions on the Web to reinstall it. Otherwise, I found it pretty straightforward with RCN in Wash. DC. Now my HTPC has all the features of my DVR and more!
