In for 6. Couldn't find any reviews on this, but I need some blanc and figure it's not a big gamble. Checked the "No vintage substitutions" box. Look for this unless you're even more in a gambling mood than I.

Unrelated to deal, but if you live near a BevMo, they are having their 5-cent wine sale right now (buy one bottle, get second for 5 cents).

Great deals on some very good wines - almost 200 of them available at the sale price.

You can also buy online if your state doesn't have retarded alcohol laws from the 1920s.

I ordered 6 reds from the last order. Haven't had a chance to taste yet. WineChateau shipped FEDEX "Ground" which I found out delivers Mon-Fri. They also require an adult signature at delivery (goverment regulation for alcohol shipments). I was not home for the three delivery attempts and had to go pick it up at the FEDEX facility. FEDEX "Home" delivers Tue-Sat and I could have scheduled a Saturday delivery if it came that way.

#1, do you think 2004 was better than 2005 in the Corbieres region? Usually newer is better for whites.

I really don't know #6. I have a good collection of reds, but just buy a white now and then when I feel like I should have some around. Long ago I kept up with the Alsacians, but not lately as my wife doesn't like those much.

Apparently, this wine is excellent if you like to watch Johnny Depp movies. Most likely you would also like this wine if you listen to Coldplay, too.

    Quote:
Leading off with the white Corbieres from Chateau baronne our panel graciously succumbed to the power of bang for the buck. Exhibiting good balance, floral notes, and a surprisingly lingering finish, this glass seemed right for fish and easy drinking. Laura Shea thought it was “subtly briny” and “drinking beautifully”, also noting that the wine “would be delicious with shellfish.” Ms. Shea also took the lead in describing the Viognier from Domaine Miquel, describing it as “a wine I'd like to snort.” Easily a success according to all four tasters, the wine opened nicely into an orchard of creamy candied fruit backed up by a quick burst of acidity. Theo definitely noticed the apricots on the front palate and was most generous by describing the total product as “well-balanced and sublime”. He even got a bit personal by saying he would like to drink a glass or two while sitting with his daughter Zoe and wife Chauna watching Johnny Depp movies.

A better review would be "Chateau La Baronne Corbieres Blanc makes my wife Chauna horny because I look like Johnny Depp after she drinks a bottle"

I always found Corbieres (from any vineyard) to be disgusting crap. It would be more applicable if it was shipped in boxes, not bottles.
Your mileage may vary, but I would advise against putting it in your gas tank in the first place.

Good point #10, but please come back to Earth. If you know so much about wine, then you know everyone's pallete is different. That is the beauty of wine. For example: I know there are great reviews about Caymus, Opus One, etc. etc. but in my opinion I do not like them, plus not to mention they are over $100 always.
I have never tried a wine from Corbieres but worth a try at this price.

Don't worry, #10's "sophisticated" palette most likely only encompasses white zinfandel. *smirk*

Question : What is the difference between homemade normal wine, and homemade Italian wine? Is it just grease content? Thanks in advance!
