Does anyone know if they will still honor their giftcards?
Umm... If I were you and had a CC gift card I would drop whatever it is you're doing and immediately head for the nearest store. Once they start the liquidation you can be almost 100% guaranteed that gift cards will not be accepted.
go to use first!!!
Confirmed:

Also, next in danger: Bestbuy. Just give it some time. They are going to face fierce competition on pricing from Wal-mart, Target and online.
how soon til we see liquidation prices?
that sucks
does corporate discount still work on the liquidation? I hear the liquidation company taking it over usually increase the prices. It's a scam.
Is this for ALL Circuit City stores in the US or just the ones they announced a while back?
Don't expect great prices on everything.... ABC News did a story on this kind of stuff a month or so ago. The liquidators come in and raise prices and then mark'em down, but they'll still above what they were before the liquidation. Just because it says half off, doesn't mean it's half off what CC was charging.
What really sucks is that 30,000 people will be laid off.
TigerDirect may buy CC....
yeah, as soon as stuff goes on sale all the good stuff has already been sold to a third party or back to the manufacturer.
HH Gregg was honoring CC gift cards, don't know if they still are.

That really sucks for people that purchased the extended warranties.
#14 the extended warranty is likely insured by another company. CompUSA for many years sold extended warraties backed by GE (at least until the last-90's when they switched to a less reputable insurer)
Listen to #10. If you know your prices then go for it but if you blindly buy whatever says "70% off" you will be sorry. Liquidators is a business and they have taken over the inventory for a set price and in turn markup then mark down to make a margin and take a profit from uneducated buyers.
so should i goto my neaby CC NOW? or should i wait?
when will prices change?
That really sucks for people that purchased the extended warranties.
the circuit city by my house closed last month. i went by a couple times during their liquidation sale...and it sucked. even when it said 40-70% i couldnt find anything onsale enough to grab.
