Had an FRS radio manage to work from ski summit to base lodge line of sight. A Panasonic unit.

Had a GMRS radio unable to penetrate a stone building with glass windows at 100 meters.
Same GMRS radios managed 1/2 mile in suburban city environment.
These were Unidens.
