I would recommend the "sit on top" Coleman kayak over this one for the $12 extra. I have the sit on top and it is great -- just as good as ones my buddies have that cost much more. The big difference that I can see is that this model does not have skegs and many users, while saying the kayak is a lot of fun, complain that it skids across the water like a sail in the wind. The sit on top has a front and back skeg and you can feel them helping you when you row. Don't get me wrong -- any blow up is going to skid when pushed by the wind. Now, the skegs can be a disadvantage in shallow streams. So if you are just doing streams this model could be better. However, this model has about 4 mils thiner plastic so, if you scrape bottom, you may have problems. There is an OK amount of storage space in the sit on top but this model clearly has much more room for "stuff."
This looks like the sort of thing that'd be OK for a backyard pool but unlikely to fare well in more challenging conditions. Of course, because of that, I'd say it'd be the perfect accessory for m0f0 and the bacon-wannabee twins to take on their next outdoor adventure. Please be sure to use it on all the rocky stream beds you find, guys. And remember, life vests are for pansy-ass liberals, so be manly and leave them at home.
