You don't understand. You see, theoretically the LED bulb will cost you less to use over the life of the bulb... that's counting on the LED bulb actually lasts as long as their bullshit advertisement claims it will.
Here's the gig, the power companies want us to use less electricity so they can charge us more for each unit of energy... When it all said and done, you'll be paying more, only getting a lot less actual energy.
This is the warm white version which they claim has 490 lumens (70 lpw * 7W). A decent, modern name brand incandescent 60W bulb is around 850 lumens. 17W CFL would be around 1100 lumens yet they claim it replaces those.
I'm fairly sure there are laws against this kind of marketing, why is it certain industries can get away with it while most can't?

So let's see here. I can spend $18.00 for 1 LED light bulb or buy a pack of 4 60 watt incandescent bulbs for $.80. Tough choice.
