No one provides warranty service anymore so the fact it has a 1 year warranty is worthless. They will make you send the thing back at your expense and then send it back to you without fixing it. They know you will soon tire of spending your money shipping it and give up. Just about all companies do this now. There is even a message on Ben's here posted within the last couple of days about this exact thing. A guy spent a bunch of money sending in a laptop twice, I think it was to Gateway, and they sent it back without fixing it (but said they did).

It doesn't make sense for companies to provide warranty service. They already have you money and know a million other people will buy their stuff even if you never do again. You have to take the product back to where you bought it for an instant refund or replacement. Let them deal with the company. They have buying power so the companies must issue them a credit. This is why Samsung puts a note in their products telling you NOT to take it back where you bought it if you have a problem with it, but instead to deal with them. If you take it back, they are forced to spend money issuing a credit to the store or the store will stop buying their products.

Companies are not required to provide warranty service. They only have to pretend to do so. Go read reviews on Amazon from people who dealt with the manufacturer instead of sending the product back to Amazon.
