      the cpu ( AMD Athlon 64 TK-57 ) is apparently only 1.9Ghz... pass on this

      seems like a decent laptop for the price (shouldn't it be $450 after rebate?), wish the RAM upgrade limit was more than 3GB

      I just put in 4Gigs of ram into this and it recognizes all of it. I understand the 32bit OS thing but it does recognize all of it.

      Don't buy a Compaq notebook. Reliability is lousy. We bought one a year and a half ago. Display stopped working after only 1.5 weeks. Took > 2 weeks to get replacement unit etc. what a pain.

      The reviews on the staples site for this laptop also say not to buy it.
