    Corsair makes some GREAT PSUs.
If your system is in need of something this size, this is a very very good price.

I'm a fan of Corsair memory - nvr tried a PSU. The only drawbacks that I can see are that it's not modular and the cables are quite long (makes for a crowded mid to small case size = decreasing internal air circulation just a bit). for large cases - not an issue at all.

Other than that, this seems like a great price for this lvl of power Wink

This is a good power supply but it is more powerfull than almost anyone would ever need. A good 500watt unit will work for almost anyone. I've always had good luck with Corsair's rebates but I've never done business with buy.com before.

Just bought one last week from newegg.com for $155 with $45 rebate. It runs very quiet. Cables are long but you can always tidy them up.

#5 A Geforce 8800 by itself requires anywhere from 110W to 190W. Good luck running 2 of those in a system with a 500W PSU

/agree w/#7 If you are going to run SLI, you will need the extra juice and Corsair has top rate PS.

If not running SLI then #5 is correct.

Only drawback to this PS is not modular but it is a pretty damn nice price.

When I researched for my last build (3-4 months ago), Corsair PSUs were consistently ranked at or near the top. I got the 620W version and have no complaints.

#7/8: you'd think so, wouldn't you? The Inquirer did a test fairly recently, in which they build a very high end gaming system, and ran it off of a 500watt power supply. It had an Intel quad core(which they overclocked), two 8800GTX's(also OC'd), high speed RAM, gamer motherboard, etc..., and it only used 430watts at max load. While I wouldn't recommend running all of that on a 500watt power supply, even a good quality one, it can be done. Most people think that they need a lot more wattage than they really do. If you're running 8800GT's or the new GTS's or the 8800GS's in SLI, (which all have lower power consumption than the 8800GTX) using a good 500watt power supply would probably be fine, provided it has enough 12v power.

This power supply is very high quality, and an incredible deal. If you want a high wattage power supply that's very high quality, get this.
