I've used GoDaddy as a registrar for almost 10 years. I would avoid using them for any other services based on feedback from my clients and friends.

If you might have anything controversial on your website, you really shouldn't use the same company for any of these:
      a) registrar
      b) hosting
      c) DNS
      d) SSL cert
Yes, it is harder to setup, run and manage, but when someone/anyone complains, GoDaddy has a history of taking down the DNS and host without contacting the owner first. That isn't what I want in a DNS or hosting provider.

Also, they cheap sell underpowered VPSs with the only help is to up sell you to the next CPU + RAM level. They did this to a relative. Fortunately, we chatted and I got him switched over to a much cheaper and less over subscribed hosting provider. He's been there happily for a few years.

Other people may have been extremely happy with those other services too. YMMV.

I will try to use one of these coupon codes to renew my domains for another 10 years via GoDaddy, so I'm definitely ok with their registrar business.

GoDaddy is based in Arizona. Just be sure you can verify yourself as a white person, or they'll send your registration info to the local militia, who will show up at your house in the middle of the night with rope.

#4, be careful. I do not think Godaddy does that.
Why do you think Godaddy will do that and why the Arizona militia will show up at the houses of non-white people in the middle of the night with rope?

Haven't been keeping up with the news #5? Godaddy sidelines as a tree swing installer, offering a minority discount.

#4 - You just need to be in the USA legally and have government ID on your person, just like 25+ other states and most foreign countries require. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090724135600AAplwrq

There's a federal law that requires you carry ID already if you are not a citizen. That includes permanent residents who are not citizens.

That is not the issue. The issue is targeting people, demanding that they produce such papers.

To put it another way, unless you are acting suspicious, commiting a crime, etc. - which is a non-race-specific factor, authorities do not walk up to you and demand to see ID solely because of your race. Until now.
