Sears.com has the Craftsman 12 volt Air Compressor/Inflator with Digital Tire Pressure Gauge for $20 + shipping. Shipping is about $6, or pick up in-store. It delivers up to 250 PSI for inflation of most vehicle tires (and beyond).
This product is junk, anemic taking forever to inflate car or other larger tires. The better option close to this price range is the following, also sold with another model number or two (but still looks very similar) and often at auto parts stores like Pep Boys though price there varies depending on whether there's a rebate or not, making it higher and lower than below prices. IMO the difference in cost isnt' much, the Amazon deal is better than spending a lot of time looking around to save an extra buck fifty.
If you want a significant upgrade over these then look at the next model up from Q-Industries, MF50 MV50 or MF-1050, IIRC, both also available from above linked sellers. Thing with these latter models is they can't run off a lighter outlet as they draw too much current, have to connect direct to battery with included clips. Even the ones linked above might blow your lighter/accessory fuse but so it goes with any compressor capable of doing much, just upgrade the fuse to a bit higher rating if it blows. There's a world of difference between these and the tiny plastic encased types which are better suited for blowing up a small beach ball.
I have the larger MF-1050 and had thought about buying a lighter outlet plug and putting an inline current limiting resistor on it as an adapter since some cars don't make their battery terminals very accessible, but since mine are accessible I never got around to it.
Yep, I got this model and took it right back after trying it. Got the next size up from Sears and have been quite satisfied for inflating sports balls, topping up tires, getting air mattresses started, etc. Light duty, for sure. If you need to inflate truck tires, look elsewhere.
I picked up nearly the same unit from Target for $14.99 a week back. That was regular price at Target.
