I just picked up the exact same thing about an hour ago at OSH for $16.99.

    It's a good set anyway.

Decent low-grade screwdrivers, but they aren't the quality they used to be. They still break (and get replaced for free) but if you compare them to really old Craftsman hand tools, it's obvious they suck now.
The main problem is with the phillips drivers, they aren't as precisely made, so they slip and damage the screwhead.

#3 I agree 'bout old vs new, but the phillips have two problems now. 1 is their tips are too pointy per the # size they are, and 2 is they use a softer cast then zinc coated metal. Leave them sitting around awhile and you'll see that dull white zinc rusty haze start to show up.

I got tired of taking the newer generation phillips back after the first go-round of their heads getting mangled, now I just touch up the tip on the grinder a time or two to get more use out of 'em before taking back for a swap. Done carefully that also makes them more slip resistant by using a stouter taper on the tip.

Yep, I almost always take modern philips to the grinding wheel to round off the tips. Bottoming out in the screw slots is the biggest reason for stripped screws. Screw drivers and wrenches from Sears haven't been any better than those at 1/3 of the price from Harbor Freight, lately.
