If you don't have fill tires & run air tools constantly, this could be very useful. The tank means that you don't even have to have it on to fill tires.

Craftsman is fast becoming the low end of the tool market. They used to be the Snap On of the tool industry. Everything I have that is craftsman is cheaply made and poor quality. Spend the money and get a Porter Cable or Ridgid compressor.

I have this compressor and haven't had any problems; I'd say it's a great unit. Works well for filling tires and finish nailing, but it isn't for really heavy jobs.

It's 100 dollars cant really expect it to do heavy jobs for the price.

You can get more for less. Check out the CH 3 gal. with the same kit as Sears model plus a staple/brad nail air gun, all for 69.99 at Lowes (every day price). I agree with #2, Sears Craftman is transforming into the low end tool market. Hence the Big K is their brother. Did I see Craftman tools at the big K?

read mixed reviews on this thing. Like said before Craftsman products aren't what they used to be. In fact just clicking the link you can see that it has a lifetime 3.7 which speaks volumes. Just take some time and read the reviews.

"Craftsman used to be the Snap On of the tool industry"? I've seen some moronic comments on here, but that one really takes it. For the clueless, Craftsman is Sears premium brand. They aren't Snap On, or Mac or anyone else. Snap On is great if you're a professional mechanic. Break a tool or need a new one and a truck rolls up to your shop. Just make sure you have the $$$ for quality. I've owned Snap On and Craftsman. As long as Sears keeps replacing my (rare) broken tools, no questions asked, I won't worry about their quality. If you want cheap, disposable tools, go to Harbor Freight.

As far as the comparison between this compressor and the one at Lowes, if the one at Lowes is the Campbell Hausfeld with the brad nailer, it's not as good at this one. This one will run my framing nailer with no problem, at least as long as a DIYer will need it to. The CH from Lowes is a much smaller unit and you'll end up taking extra breaks waiting for it to catch up with that little brad nailer. Neither has the CFM for air ratchets, grinders, or cut off tools.
