I have this hose and its not very kink proof if thats what you are looking for. Its not one of those kinkless hoses. Plus, you have to have the receipt to claim the lifetime warranty. I had a hose blow up after a year and they wouldnt replace it without the receipt
I have one, at least I think it's the same as it must have been right before some genius saw the need to print "rubber hose" (lol) on it every few feet.
It is more kink resistant than the typical $20 hose, really heavy and has stood up to abuse pulled across a concrete driveway constantly.
Main problem is it weighs a lot more, if you want to put it on a hose reel you can expect those cheap plastic (Suncast et al. brands) types to break apart sooner due to the weight and forget about coupling two of these together and using that on a plastic reel... reel probably wouldn't last even one season of regular use.
#4 is right about it leaving black rubber residue on anything it gets pulled across, particularly clothing or your hands, not so much on the driveway. It does that less as it ages a bit.
#5 is right. I have 2 of these on my line at the farm and they are heavy. They work well but are anything but light. Seems to hold up well and are well made.

Someone pulled one over on you I think, I've never needed a receipt to exchange anything covered by the Unlimited Lifetime Warranty...
If it has a lifetime warranty it shouldn't matter when you bought it.
The last lifetime black hose I had from Sears was very heavy and made everything it touched look like the La Brea Tar Pits.
