Weighs a lot more than its plastic counterpart. If you're a portable-toolbag kinda guy (or girl), give that some thought. I own a few metal levels, but they're big ones, and stay at home 99% of the time. The shorty like this is plastic for portability.
But then, I'm also the guy who went through the knife section at Home Depot, hefting and tossing each model of utility knife. I figure they all have similar feature sets, why pick one that's gonna weigh me down?
^ Depends on why it weighs more, that could weigh towards the durability which would matter more on a knife than a level. That said one of my favorite utility knives is nothing special, just black plastic with finger grips molded on... like the following though mine is a generic branded version that was about $1
