Good price and lifetime warranty is great.
I heard Sears has stopped the lifetime warranty on their tools. At the least you get a lot of hassle from the stores when trying to exchange one.
Nope #2, it's just that a few rare encounters with poor employees or asshats trying to replace something because it rusted in the rain or they destroyed it with an unintended use get online and whine about being caught in their irresponsible actions.
Use the tools as intended and if they break you can expect it to be exchanged with minimal to no hassles. If you find a smart-assed kid in a store just look for a little older employee who isn't trying to play god.
There is one downside though, if you take in a lot of tools they may not want to exchange them all at once and this is how I usually do it... since I have plenty of redundant tools I'm not going to drive to the store for only a screwdriver or two, I wait until there are enough tools to make it worth the bother.
