^ you're suggesting something for larger branches than this was meant to handle. Personally I prefer a saw or small chainsaw for larger than this can handle, both leave cleaner cuts.
Wooden handles break too easily. And I prefer a geared lopper (goes through just about anything you can get in its jaws.
