Sears has the Craftsman Compound Action Bypass Lopper for $15 with free in-store pickup. Shipping option is $7. Features 1-1/2" diameter cutting capacity, fully heat treated high-carbon steel cutting head, PTFE non stick coated blade, and aluminum handles with ergonomic grip.
Have one, works fine. Tried to cut too big a branch with it and it bent the hook side, took it apart at the hinge and beat it straight again with a mallet, worked fine again. Lesson learned - the width the jaws open is to more easily get branches in, it's not meant to cut the biggest limb you can squeeze in there... sometimes it's time to break out the chainsaw.
Most geared loppers have the equivalent piece to the one on mine that bent, it's the hook shaped piece that pushes the branch against the blade, not just a flat stamped sheet or plate.
However for more money they tend to come with thicker, better hardened steel which will withstand much greater force.
Another Crapsman tool guaranteed to fail. You would be better off gnawing off branches with your teeth.
#1 it gets 5 stars from users and has a lifetime craftsman warranty. Do you own one or just like to blow smoke about things you know nothing?
#1, living life with such negative thoughts will make you a very sour puss.

Personally, I prefer a geared lopper. Doesn't have any of those metal plates to bend.
