The one I have, not sure what brand, my wife sheared the pins in it so not too strong. Replaced the pins with hardened bolts but now expect something else to break. Been eying the geared ones but haven't seen a good deal yet. The ratcheting ones do keep a more natural hand position without having to open it so wide for large branches like the geared and standard ones do but if they break not much of an advantage.
I prefer geared loppers. A little more money, but less parts to fail.
