Sears.com has the Craftsman Digital Multimeter w/ AC Voltage Detector for $12 + shipping. Shipping is $6; free in-store pickup in most locations. This digital multimeter measures AC/DC volts, current and resistance. Also measures diode and continuity.
I want the drill but its only the head set. do they fit any drill on the market? I can get some cheap ass drill gun from Ross but I need the good drill heads.
Got one a year ago. Works well. But Sears is goofy about someone other than you picking it up -- requires the card used to purchase it -- which is fine for most people, but I was sending it as a gift, so it languished in pickup for several weeks. The folks at Sears finally let my giftee have it when she paid the difference between the sale & retail price. Don't know how that satisfied them that I was the one who bought it. ....FYI
Got a similar digital meter from sears last year ($10).
Used the battery test feature more than anything else (don't know if this one also has it).
Needed it to check the voltage output on the thermocouple in my spa heater. Saved me a $75 charge to have a guy come out to check the spa heater.
Works fine, but don't bother trying to use the thermistor (if it has one) to check temps. Values on mine are all over the map. Compared with digital thermometers I use in kitchen. They agreed (different brands/types) but meter always 4-5 off. Took first one back, and second was same.
I bought an autoranging Sears DMM about two months ago for $14. It came with a temperature probe. I have no use for the temp probe, but it was included.
Good Deal for both quality products.
I saw this on previous sales for $9.99 @ Sears
Oh well need it now.
$13.49 for pickup in CA.
Good stuff.. but when was the last time I actually soldered or test a PCB board? Was that like 20 years ago?

#2, I agree.. I got this DMM for $10 2 years ago.
It's pretty good. Does everything I want but the AC detector, I hardly use it. Only for fun to hear it beeps. LOL
Last time I use this meter was to test my HD antenna that I made. Just making sure it connects.
#4,
When your computer doen't turn on, do you ever test the power supply? Have you ever done electrical work/repairs in your home? Meters are handy.

Is this another Sears spam? I've been bitten several times.
Great "gift" #8. Sounds like she ended paying for something she probably didn't want in the first place.

always a necessary tool for a working mans garage.
Nothing beats a Fluke when it comes to multimeters.
