Sears has the Craftsman Dog Bone SAE Wrench (also metric) on sale for $25 with free in-store pickup. Shipping option is $6. Features a built-in 8 lb. magnet and fits 8 SAE socket sizes: 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, and 13/16".
What's the use of these? They can't go anywhere that a ratchet doesn't already fit. You also need extra headroom to lift off of the bolt/nut each turn (no ratchet here, remember?). A cheap box-end and crescent set (aka combination) is much more useful.
I found this useful when I was tightening a nut on a really long bolt...the bolt goes through the other end of the wrench where even a deep socket wasnt deep enough...yes I could have used just a regular wrench, but this is a quick and easy alternative when you have different sizes
#4 is spot on...i did the same, way before this burp thing was cool....It is not as good as a complete set of sockets, or a set of open end wrenches, but for compact design, and one tool you cant lose baconnaise off of, it does the job. So burp yourself.
They're handy for when you get the nut/bolt loose you can turn the handle straight and spin it the rest of the way. Also works in the rare case where you can only get a grip at an angle where you wouldn't be able to get a box end on and an open end slips off too easy or where a socket and wobbly might not fit.
On the bad side I can see myself breaking these pretty easily.
My dog wrenched his bone and hasn't stopped licking it since.
#1 help him? anyways, lol. smart design, gonna try it.
What use is SAE nowadays?
i picked up one of these for $10 at tractor supply...it works well and built solid

When the f uck did the word i,t become a bacon filter?
#2 - I wouldn't bother on this one. I don't remember the last time I needed a socket wrench where there was room for a head that size.
It isn't bacon.it is what .it is. ->".it" = flaw in bacon.
not a good deal. I got one on sale in Sears for like $10 some time last year.
