I picked up one of these Craftsman auto ranging meters when they listed here. I don't like the way it displays values while it is "hunting" for the range. It is too easy to think it found a value when it is really thrashing around. It would have been better to blank it or flash the display.
a while back the thermometer alone was $65. After a year the rubberized grip turned into flypaper so I can't stand to touch it. Maybe duct tape can save it!

Silicone rubber grips can give off silicone oil after a while, that can be cleaned off with a strong detergent solution.
