I have the 32GB version and it's outstanding. The improvements over the last generation added some great features, and resolved the flash memory menu integration issue, but the addition of the FLAC codec sold me on upgrading. I would suggest getting the 32GB version, since it's only a bit more expensive and doubles the onboard capacity, though you can always add memory through the expansion slot.

Can't decide if this is a better than $150 Ipod touch Apple refurb. Touch has lots of apps but only 8GB and no expansion.
and BTW, Apple refurbs are literally as good as new in every way except packaging. You even get Apple stickers.
